Fisher DeBerry

Fisher DeBerry coached at the United States Air Force Academy from 1984-2006, compiling a record of 169-109-1. DeBerry led 17 of his 23 squads to winning records and 12 of his teams captured bowl bids. In addition, DeBerry’s squad dominated the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy series with rivals Army and Navy, earning 14 trophies. His 1985 squad played their way to a ranking as high as fourth nationally, but ended the season eighth in the AP Poll after a 28-21 loss to BYU.   DeBerry was named the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year, AFCA Coach of the Year and Walter Camp Coach of the Year in 1985. After an illustrious career, Deberry was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
