Jim Tressel served as head coach at Youngstown State University from 1986-2000 and at Ohio State University from 2001-2011. Between the two schools, Tressel won five national championships. As coach of Ohio State, he competed in three BCS National Championship games. In 2002, his team won the national title after achieving the first 14-0 season record in college football since University of Pennsylvania went 15-0 in 1897. After the 2002 season, Tressel was awarded the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award, Paul “Bear” Bryant Award, Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award and the Sporting News College Football Coach of the Year for his success on the gridiron.
